POP princess Delta Goodrem enjoyed a cosy meal with a group of friends, including crooner Darren Hayes, last night at Bondi Icebergs in Sydney.

Dressed in a bright pink top and black cap, the singer met about eight friends in the trendy restaurant's cocktail bar.

The group moved to a private function room at 9pm for a late dinner.

Despite looking pale - she has been battling hodgkins lymphoma - she was animated and chatted cheerily to club staff.

She also waved for The Daily Telegraph's camera when she left at 12.45am, before hopping into a silver Seven Series BMW driven by her mother Lea.

Also dining at the restaurant last night was comedian and star of The Wog Boy Nick Giannopoulos.

Delta and Hayes have a close bond - highlighted at last year's ARIA Awards when the former Savage Garden frontman flew back from the US to sing her hit Born To Try.

At the awards the young Sydney singer and actor won seven ARIAs including the coveted awards of Best Female Artist and Single of the Year.

It was her last official public engagement before turning her attention full time to the battle against her illness.

Editors Note: The song that was peformed was actually Delta's song 'Lost Without You' and not 'Born To Try' as is actually listed.
