London Sheperd's Bush Empire Concert Review
Posted By lssilver on Wednesday, November 17 2004 at 8:10 PM
Thanks to Raj Rudolph for emailing this to me:
I just got back from seeing Darren Hayes perform tonite at Shepherd's Bush Empire in London -- what a fantastic show! Following is the setlist with comments. Forgive me if I don't get the exact order right - recalling this from memory at midnight but it is accurate for the most part...
Void - show opener
Darkness
I Like The Way
Strange Relationship
Break Me, Shake Me - My favourite of the night...Darren remixes this with a heavy electronic beat and incorporates the lyrics to Nine Inch Nails' 'Head Like A Hole'
Hold Me - iPod Karaoke challenge
I Want You - iPod Karaoke challenge
Unlovable (piano solo)
Two Beds and a Coffee Machine
Insatiable
Dublin Sky
Truly Madly Deeply - Darren also incorporates Massive Attatck's 'Protection' lyrics Crash and Burn I Knew I Loved You Popular - rich bitch mix and NYC video footage play before this encore.
Affirmation - encore
Feel - show closer, Darren explains this song is the opposite of 'Void'
Overall comments - Obviously the show is heavy on Savage Garden hits and light on Spin hits...but overall it works very well as Darren has really deepened the electronica more and more into his act. I was a little bummed he didn't sing 'To The Moon and Back' since he decided to sing so many Savage Garden songs. The set design and concept are very amazing and is explained throughly in a unique show guide tour souveiner booklet selling for £8.
Stunning and amazing show - thank you Darren.

Something I found at PopRemixes.com
CD Promo on Columbia:
1. Ray Rock Club Mix
2. 12" Mix
3. Peter Presca Mix
4. Darkness Deep Glow Mix
Also found a little more info on the forums at MarkDynamix.com about the remixes that were completed ...
"Darkness (Mark Dynamix & Jaytech's Deep Glow Remixes)" - Darren Hayes
Yes we have also finished 4 remixes of Darren Hayes' new forthcoming single (follow up to Popular). Darren has heard it and loves it, so all is looking good for a worldwide release of these mixes on cd single and vinyl. It's a great song (best song off his new album) with an awesome vocal. If you thought it would be anything like Popular...you're wrong - it's not commercial in the slightest...wait til you hear it! There's the full length mix, instrumental, radio mix and ambient mix..whether all get used or not is up to Sony.
