The Sydney Listening Party for Darren's new album 'The Tension & The Spark' is on this Sunday (May 2nd) at Studios 301 and we will be there. There will be a full report and photos posted soon after the event.

News from Listening Parties

At this stage the album will be released at the end of July and the first single (currently rumoured to be called 'Popular' but still not officially announced) will be released approximately 3 weeks before the album is released.
Some reports from the listening party have been posted on the forums for you to read :)

First Single Title Revealed

The first single to be released from Darren's new album "The Tension & The Spark", is called, POPULAR.
No word yet on a release date but we can tell you that Jason Nevins is currently in the studio working on a remix for the single. We can also tell you that Darren is recording additional vocals exclusively for the mix.

Album Master Copies Lost

Reports today from Sony Music in the UK that the master copies of Darren's new album 'The Tension & The Spark' have been lost. A spokesperson from Sony Music said that "The masters were being transported to our production facility, but upon arrival they were not present. We have searched long and hard to find these copies with no luck". According to the spokesperson the album would have to be mixed again. This could take some time.
"I'm really dissapointed and upset by this, I promise all my fans there will be a release, but it may be some time" said Darren Hayes when asked, "I spent months recording and mixing this album only to see all my hard work gone".
Fans of Hayes who were looking forward to seeing this album released will be devestated.
More news as it comes to hand.
